SuccorfishM2M Head of Marine, Tom Rossiter, will be a guest speaker at the Shellfish Association of Great Britain’s (SAGB) annual conference taking place this year from 24-25 May in London.
The event, being held at the Fishmonger’s Hall, is the organisation’s 47th annual conference and aims to discuss and address issues currently facing the industry including the need for accurate fisheries data and fishermen filling the evidence gap in order to promote sustainable fishing, effective marine management and total consumer traceability within the supply chain from catch to plate.
As a guest speaker, Tom will be discussing ‘fishermen filling the evidence gap’ and the future of fully documented fisheries. He will address the changing landscape of the fishing industry through the collection of valuable, robust data in an automated manner, that is collected once and used many times, and converted into valuable information ready to be used by growing number of interested parties.
SuccorfishM2M is at the forefront of commercial fisheries development having launched Catch App, a free-to-download app that allows fishermen to accurately record and submit catch data as and when it occurs. It is a revolutionary online ‘digital diary’ designed specifically for the global commercial fishing industry and allows precise real time data, including location, species, weight, method, time of capture, size and environment, to be input prior to landing.
