What is the roll-out plan for under six metre vessels?
Under six metre vessels will require an inshore vessel monitoring system (I-VMS) device once new legislation comes into force, expected in April 2024.
You should focus on ordering a device and reclaiming costs by 18 December to take full advantage of the funding.
Engineers are available now and you should order your device and book an installation directly with a supplier of a type approved device. Suppliers of both type approved devices have confirmed that their I-VMS units can be fixed to under six metre vessels and offer removeable power sources.
Grant claims no longer require evidence of a device installation or data ping test, and installations should be booked as early as possible.
