Lampris, the Succorfish Depth & Temperature Sensor, is a compact, fully wireless device built with high-precision Keller sensor technology. Lampris uses high-frequency data logging to deliver dependable depth and temperature measurements even in the harshest and most remote marine environments.
The Lampris has not been designed in isolation by engineers, but has been shaped from the beginning by divers and fishing operators working in the abalone industry of Victoria, Australia.
It is a truly groundbreaking depth and temperature sensor that removes the need for manual logging and provides reliable and accurate data, no matter how remote the location.
The fully sealed, cable-free design with Qi wireless charging and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity makes the Lampris a low-maintenance, low-cost depth and temperature measurement solution. Beyond compliance data, for divers this means simple effort reporting and for operators it provides essential decision-making data to identify productive areas, understand seasonal patterns and build a compliance record.




The Lampris can be deployed as a standalone depth and temperature sensor with its dedicated app, or it can be deployed alongside the SC2 Gen 3 platform to provide real-time transmission of all readings even outside cellular coverage.
When paired with the Lampris, the SC2 Gen 3 provides global connectivity via LTE Cat 1 BIS cellular or Iridium satellite, real-time data transmission, highly accurate positioning, plus secure onboard storage.
The GIGO automatically tracks deployment and retrieval of fishing equipment for REM compliance and efficient recovery of gear. The Lampris can be added to equipment already tracked with GIGO devices to add depth and temperature to the dataset.
The Succorfish SC2 platform provides a centralised highly secure data platform, ensuring complete data integrity with real-time accessibility, anywhere.
Lampris logs precise depth and temperature readings at a configurable sampling interval of 1 second or greater, storing up to 29,400 records in 512 KB of onboard memory.
Water Depth Sensor:
Lampris measures depth using a pressure-derived Keller sensor, converting hydrostatic pressure readings into precise depth values to a rated accuracy of ±0.02% FS (full scale). This approach delivers consistent, drift-resistant performance across the sensor’s full operating range, to depths exceeding 4000 m.
Water Temperature Sensor:
Lampris continuously measures water temperature to an accuracy of ±0.1 °C, using the same integrated Keller sensor package. Paired depth and temperature readings provide a complete picture of subsea conditions at the point of measurement — critical for identifying thermoclines, monitoring environmental change, and verifying gear or equipment performance.
Gear-In, Gear-Out Events:
Lampris incorporates GIGO technology, allowing it to double as a fishing gear beacon, automatically recording deployment and retrieval events for fishing gear such as nets or pots. This gives fishers a complete picture of both environmental conditions and gear activity, from deployment to retrieval, across an entire string, all from a single device.
Future Capabilities:
Designed with future-proofing in mind, the Lampris depth and temperature platform supports expansion through future environmental and scientific sensor integrations, including parameters such as conductivity/salinity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and other mission-specific sensors.
